Amanda Vitiello (MFA 2014)
Amanda Vitiello is an actor, dancer and writer with a heart for times of yore. Originally from Los Angeles, she has acted in film & television, and performed in theaters across the country. As a performer, Ms. Vitiello has worked in regional theaters such as Long Beach Playhouse, Musical Theatre of Los Angeles (MTLA), Chrysalis Stage, and Gallery Players Theatre.
Since 2006, she has developed many films and live performance / installations with the L.A.-based art/event company, Bagavagabonds. After working on the role of Shakespeare’s Joan of Arc for five months, Ms. Vitiello is extracting that research and combining it with her experience and studies in traditional burlesque in order to devise an original one-woman show centered on Gypsy Rose Lee. Her interest and education is varied and ranges from Improv at the P.I.T. (New York) to experimental Grotowski training in Italy. She received her B.A. in Theatre Performance from California State University, Long Beach. She also attended conservatory programs at both The Actors Center (N.Y.) and at Harvard/ART.When not in school, she lives in New York with her husband and collaborator, Jesse Jensen. http://www.amandavitiello.com
