Department of Music students benefit from a dedicated faculty with expertise in varied fields of
interest. Our composition and theory faculty continue to receive
commissions for original work and are consistently at the center
of the new music scene in America. Musicology and ethnomusicology
faculty frequently publish scholarly monographs, journal
articles, and encyclopedia entries. Faculty conductors lead
top-notch ensembles all over the world.
Applied faculty are professional
musicians who are largely responsible for the instruction of
undergraduate students on the performance track and selected
ensembles.
Faculty and staff advisers provide
individual academic guidance, while a dedicated staff supports the ensembles,
students, faculty, and day-to-day operation of the department.
