Computer Studios

The Department of Design at UC Davis offers a variety of tools to students meant to help further their design education and assist in finishing projects.

205 Cruess Digital Printing Studio

The Digital Printing Lab at the UC Davis Department of Design is a drop-in multimedia computer lab located in 205 Cruess Hall. The facility’s primary function is to serve as a digital design and printing space for UC Davis Department of Design students. The studio specializes in design software graphic design, image editing, page layout and CAD.

The studio offers digital ink jet printing. Printing is reserved for courses designed around the use of the computer lab.

207 Cruess Instructional Computer Studio

The UC Davis Department of Design's Computer Studio is a multimedia instructional computer lab located in 207 Cruess Hall. This facility is NOT an IT campus lab and does not have the capacity to serve the multimedia computer needs of the entire campus.

Its primary purpose is to provide the department's students, faculty, and staff with a high-end multimedia instructional computing facility for teaching desktop publishing, photo scanning and editing, computer graphic design, textile and fashion design, and web page development.

Studio hours vary quarterly. See current schedule of open access hours below. Access is limited to enrolled students during scheduled classes.
