Objectives of the Internship Program: Enable students to obtain
learning experience which will complement and extend the
traditional educational process. The experience should also aid
the student in exploration of potential career opportunities
and assist the student in clarifying his/her personal and
educational goals.
Obligations of the student:
Have completed 84 units, in order to obtain course credit for
an internship.
Submit a detailed outline of the proposed program including a
statement of objectives and an explanation of the internship to
the student’s total academic program.
Demonstrate to the faculty that the student has adequate
background to permit successful completion of the project.
Actively participate in the field experience to a degree
commensurate with the unit credit requested.
Meet with faculty supervisor three times during the quarter.
Fulfill all contractual obligations agreed upon with the
faculty sponsor, including submission of required written work.
Submit this completed form to ART 101 for review and to gain
a course record number (CRN) to enroll.
Enter the CRN number via SISWEB. The course will NOT
automatically be added to your schedule. You must register for
the course using the CRN number.
Enrollment
Per the College of Letters and Science, a maximum of 12 units of
a variable unit 192 course will count toward the total unit count
required to graduate. You may enroll in 1 to 6 units per quarter.
30 hours of work is equal to 1 unit.
Application
Paperwork must be completed, electronically signed by faculty,
and emailed to artoffice@ucdavis.edu by
the 12th day of the quarter to obtain the course record number to
enroll. Internship units are issued for the quarter they are
earned. Once this form is completed and submitted, you will be
provided with a CRN from the Arts Group Advising
Office, Huryoung Vongsachang,
Program Coordinator.
