Field of interest: Pre-Gupta Vaisnava iconography and numismatics
in South and Southeast Asia; Buddhist survivals in Tamil Siddha
tradition; the representation of Hinduism and Buddhism in
American popular literature from 1880 to 1968.
Field of interest: Ancient Mesoamerica. Matthew Looper heads
the Maya Hieroglyphic Database Project. He has published many
books and articles on Ancient Maya art and epigraphy, as well as
contemporary Maya textiles.

Vincent Cheng is an Undergraduate Program
Advisor at the Arts Group Advising Center. He is invested in
empowering students with the resources, knowledge, and skills
they need to achieve their goals. Prior to advising, Vincent has
worked in medicine, coached gymnastics, and ran business
competitions. He graduated from Harvard with a B.S. in Biology.
He enjoys drawing, watching anime, and playing video games.
Huryoung Vongsachang is an Undergraduate Program Coordinator and
Academic Advisor in the Arts Group Advising Center. His
experiences, centered around student advocacy and support,
first-year transitions, and cross-functional event coordination,
in conjunction with his STEM and healthcare background, bring a
unique new outlook to the advising center. Huryoung has held
previous positions at the University, from the Medical Center to
the Student Housing and Dining Services, and the Cross Cultural
Center. Huryoung is a first-generation college graduate and holds
a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of
California, Davis.

His passions as a Coordinator and Advisor lie in facilitating a
fulfilling, holistic experience for undergraduates and improving
the quality of work and life. In his free time, Huryoung
thoroughly enjoys nature, food, sports, dancing, and playing the
violin.

Arianna’s research interests broadly include the arts of the
Rococo and specifically, Bavarian Rococo pilgrimage churches.
During her time at UC Davis, she will continue studying the
German language and exploring themes of women’s agency and
patronage in context of eighteenth century Bavaria.

Haleigh Jones’ undergraduate thesis focused on the
Florentine painter Fra Filippo Lippi, dismantling long-standing
sensationalized myths drawn from unreliable sources and instead
highlighting his technical skill and artistic mastery. At UC
Davis, Haleigh plans to extend this critical approach to other
artists of the Florentine Renaissance, investigating how
embellished narratives and questionable biographies have shaped
their reception across centuries.

University, Sacramento, Lena continues to study feminist
contemporary art, typically focusing on themes of
intersectionality within SWANA (South West Asia and North Africa)
identities. She also has a particular emphasis on the Palestinian
Diaspora.

Since 2010, Man has been engaged in Dunhuang-inspired
painting and jewelry art design, combining practice with
teaching. Her artworks have been exhibited in multiple
international exhibitions and symposiums on related themes, and
she has published several CSSCI-indexed papers.
In 2009, Man conducted research in Jewelry Art at Kobe
Design University in Japan, and in 2016, she studied Jewelry
Art at the University of Iowa in the United States.
Man has had two solo exhibitions in Kobe and Iowa.

Alex Ng has been actively involved in Tea art and culture
education since 2022. He is also a certified teacher from
