The Cinema and Digital Media Program has teaching facilities that
offer students the opportunity to acquire and practice a variety
of production skills, including digital imaging, digital video,
digital sound, web design, and other aspects of digital
production. Hands-on classes in film production, video editing,
sonic arts, computer graphics and animation are held in our Mac
computer lab, Sound lab, Electronics lab, and in the Photography,
Digital Media and Video lab. Each of our facilities has technical
staff on site to support instructional activities and provide
training with equipment.
Students in Sonic Arts courses use the Sound lab to acquire and
practice techniques of recording, editing, mixing and synthesis
to combine voice, field recordings and electronic signals. Here
students learn to incorporate a broad spectrum of live, recorded
and found sounds to create multidimensional stories and present
them as live performances, audio recordings and sound
installations.
The Mac lab, Sound lab, and Electronics labs are located in the
Art Annex, along
with our large lecture room, used for film screenings, lectures
and speaker events in addition to classes.
Photography, Digital Media and Video facilities are located in
the basement of the Art Building.
