Amanda Roth M.A.

Amanda’s thesis explored the government-organized art exhibition, “Art Treasures from the Vienna Collections,” which traveled to four major American museums from Allied-occupied, “liberated” Austria in the years 1949-1951. This project will explore the politics of the exhibition and the power of art and objects in reinforcing the ideological and political goals of post-war Austria and America.

Art History Master of Arts candidates  Piper Milton, Justina Martino, Amanda Roth, Hannah Kagan-Moore, Arielle Hardy, Kristen Keach, Alexandra Craven and Nicole Budrovich contributed catalog essays to “For Future Reference, ” the online catalog for the 2014 MFA Art Studio exhibition. The exhibition for Art Studio MFAs Brett Davis, Jamie Dunn, Daniel Harano, Jeff King, Rachel Gelenius, Jacob Greenlund, Alyssa Lempesis and Joyce Nojima is at the Nelson Gallery from May 31-June 21, 2014.
