From Arcimboldo to DeForest: Outsider Art
Matthew Weseley
A February 24th talk by Matthew Weseley is featured in This Week in the Humanities. The article, on the Davis Humanities Institute website, notes Weseley’s juxtaposition of Roy DeForest’s capricious artistic production with that of 16th-century artist Guiseppe Arcimboldo, famous for his composite portraits that resemble still lifes made of fruits and vegetables.
Matthew Weseley is a Research Associate in Art History. Read the complete article, “From Arcimboldo to DeForest: Outsider Art and the Personification of Nature,” on the DHI site.
