Doria E. Charlson, visiting professor of dance, is pleased to announce the first of two fall quarter musical theatre dance workshops. On Oct. 16, students are invited to participate and learn choreography for “Wilkommen,” the opening number to the musical Cabaret.

The workshop will be led by Meredith Joelle Donato, an acclaimed Bay area choreographer and teaching artist.

The workshop begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Hickey Gym. The workshop is free, but space is limited so please reserve a space at the link above.

Donato has experience as a director of writing at CAMPANILE COLLEGE COUNSELING INC and as a choreographer at The Custom Made Theatre Company, where they worked on multiple world premieres. A public engagement associate and virtual workshop producer at The OpEd Project and a Lead Instructor at UC Berkeley Extension, Donato has also worked as a guest artist at the College of San Mateo, a children’s chorus rehearsal director at ODC/Dance, and a choreographer at Palo Alto Players-Peninsula Center Stage. Additionally, they have prior experience as a Trainee at Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company.

There will be a second musical theatre dance workshop on Nov. 1 and Donato will teach “Ever After” from Into the Woods.
