U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ARTS AND CULTURE
Larry Bogad: Minister of Tactical Performance

WE, THE PEOPLE, DO HEREBY CREATE
THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ARTS AND CULTURE*

Inciting creativity in the service of empathy, equity, and social imagination.

*The USDAC is not a government agency.

A network of artists all over America have started something called the U.S. Department of Arts and Culture. No, the government doesn’t really have one of those, but these artists believe that one should exist so they’re performing it into existence.

The USDAC recently released a State of the Union address with contributions by network artists. Larry Bogad (Minister of Tactical Performance) is among the many inspiring people who are taking part. From January 20-30, 2015, people across the country are invited to reflect on the current state of our union and share stories in response to three prompts. Inspired by these stories, a diverse group of poets from across the U.S. will co-create the 2015 Poetic Address to the Nation, to be performed and broadcast live on February 1, 2015.

Visit the links to find out more, read Bogad’s statement, and to share your story.
