Jin Wang

Research Associate.

Jin Wang is a Professor at the School of Art, Shandong University. They will be a visiting scholar at UC Davis from September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2027. While here, they will continue their research on the development of Sino-Japanese painting.

Xin Shen

Research Associate. Ph.D. candidate, School of Arts, Southeast University, Nanjing.

Xin Shen is a graduate student at the School of Arts, Southeast University in Nanjing. They will continue their research on “The dissemination and influence of Chinese art and contemporary culture on the Internet” during their time at UC Davis.

Thiago Braga

Thiago Braga is a visiting scholar from Brazil and will be working at UC Davis during the 2026–2027 academic term.

Cun Liu

Research Associate.

Cun Liu is an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture and Art Design at Hebei University of Technology and will be a visiting scholar at UC Davis from September 20, 2026 to September 19, 2027. While at UC Davis, Cun will continue research on their project “The Evolution of Design Art Concepts and Practices since the New Era.”

Yiyue Sun

Research Associate. M.A., School of Fine Arts and Calligraphy, Nanjing University of the Arts (2019–2022). B.A., College of Humanities, Zhejiang University (2013–2017).

Yiyue Sun is a PhD candidate in art theory at Southeast University, China, and currently a visiting fellow at UC Davis. Her research focuses on the media transformation and transcultural dissemination of Ming–Qing Chinese art.

Lichang Zhao

Lichang Zhao is a Lecturer in the School of Painting at Hubei Institute of Fine Arts. She received her Ph.D. in Art Theory at Wuhan University of Technology, producing a dissertation on “Research on Roger Fry’s Artistic Thoughts” for which Professor Michael Yonan served as an adviser.
