Daniel Gerwin
Art Studio Lunch Time Lecture Series
Daniel Gerwin has had five solo shows since receiving his MFA from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008. His work was included in New American Paintings northeast edition (No. 104) in 2013, and has been shown in New York, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Michigan, New Jersey and Delaware. Daniel just moved to California where he teaches painting and drawing at UC Davis. Before coming to UC Davis, he taught at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Iowa and the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. In addition to his studio work, he writes about art. His reviews and essays have appeared in Hyperallergic, The Huffington Post, BurnAway, Machete, and Title Magazine (where he is an editor). Daniel was chosen as a Career Development Fellow with the Center for Emerging Visual Artists from 2012-2014, and in 2013, he was selected to participate in the Art Writing Workshop sponsored by the Andy Warhol Foundation/Creative Capital and the International Art Critics Association/USA Section.
Daniel received his B.A. from Yale University, and he now lives
with his wife, their two sons, and a large furry dog.
