Arneson Subject of Museum Conversation
October 18
Learn more about the late UC Davis art professor Robert Arneson’s Alice Street series at a conversation between Sandra Shannonhouse, the artist’s widow, and Rachel Teagle, founding director of the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art. The artist did a number of works connected to the house where he and his family lived on Alice Street in Davis, including the monumental 1974 work “The Palace at 9 a.m.” on display at the museum. The October 18 event is at 2:30 p.m. at the museum and is free and open to the public.
Arneson joined the Art Department in 1962. He died in 1992.
