For over two decades the Film Fest @ UC Davis has premiered hundreds of short films by student filmmakers. Now in its 21st year, this year’s virtual festival is seeking submissions from UC Davis students or recent graduates. 

The Film Fest committee is accepting works that are eight minutes or less in length. Submissions are open to all genres and styles, from narrative to documentary to experimental.

Submissions are now open through April 19, 2021.

Established in 2000 within the Department of Theatre and Dance, the festival was founded buy a number of students involved in filmmaking and some faculty. In time, other departments came on board. Some of our alumni filmmakers have gone to submit works to numerous regional film festivals including the Sundance Festival.

The 2021 festival will be held on May 19 and 20 online (details to come). The festival is co-produced by the Departments of Art and Art History, Cinema and Digital Media, Design, Music and Theatre and Dance.
