Jonathan Martinez is a senior majoring in Music Performance, and Sociology: Law and Society emphasis. Jonathan has been playing the flute since he was 12 and is currently studying with Tod Brody. Jonathan discovered the flute in his freshman year of high school. It was only until he attended an LA Phil concert that his passion for flute set forth. His love of the flute is only rivaled by his adoration of the piccolo, the smaller yet infinitely more powerful sibling of the flute.

He is particularly fond of the romantic period, and adamantly believes that some of the most beautiful flute music arises from that time.
