“Cry of Jeremiah” in Carnegie Hall
Rosephanye Powell’s The Cry of Jeremiah
with guest orchestra and Dr. Rosephanye Powell, narrator,
and Professor of Teaching Nicolás Alberto Dosman, conductor
The chorus (“National Masterwork Chorus”) will be made up of nearly 70 singers from the UC Davis Concert Choir and approximately 20 singers from the Granite Bay High School, which is directed by UC Davis music alum Susanna Peeples (B.A. music ’09). Other singers will join from Georgia Tech and Northern Arizona University, with the program presented by the collaborative concert producer, National Concerts. Practically on Juneteenth, this special concert program likely represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the students performing!
