Carol Hess Honored by American Musicological Society

Professor Carol A. Hess was named an honorary member by the American Musicological Society on Sept. 15. The society recognizes recipients for their extraordinary contributions to the study and teaching of music.

The committee wrote, “Her pioneering publications, including books and articles about the music of Spain and the Americas, have received the Society of American Music’s Irving Lowens Article Award, the NEH Open Book Award, the ASCAP Deems Taylor Award, and the AMS’s Robert Stevenson Award.”
