Christian Baldini described as a “consummate conductor” in Argentina’s prominent newspaper “La Nacion”
October 3, 2013
Christian Baldini received a “Very Good” review for conducting the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional of Buenos Aires from La Nacion newspaper. The program was:
Alejandro Civilotti: Elegía por Julia Ponce
Sant-Saëns: Violin Concerto No. 3
Strauss: Don Juan
Shostakovich: Festive Overture
In a quote from the review by Jorge Aráoz Badí:
The masterful symphonic poem, Don Juan, and the feast of musical ideas in Shostakovich’s Festive Overture had transcendent interpretations. As in the Elegía of Civilotti and the Violin Concerto, the symphony responded to the demands of the conductor with impeccable quality. Although his hands are still very young, Christian Baldini injected spirit and strength into the performance. There were no forced tempos, and it proved to be particularly exquisite.
The refinement of the performance did not collide with the professionalism in the way of dynamic progressions. The orchestra achieved unexpected sonorous dimension and all the soloists shone particularly well. Shortly after starting the concert, everyone had the conviction and assurance that on the stage was an consummate conductor.
