The Department of Music at the University of California, Davis, announces openings for lecturers to teach the following courses during the 2024–25 academic year.

Music 157 Bluegrass & Old Time String Band “Performance of bluegrass and Appalachian old time music. Practice of instrumental and vocal techniques and repertory in vernacular American string band idioms.” 

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications for Music 157 is a master’s degree in music or equivalent professional experience. Candidates should be prepared to direct a large ensemble of students, at various experience levels, as they work together on this repertoire. 

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience performing, and directing college-level music ensembles. 
• Familiarity with repertoire. 
• Multi-instrumentalist preferred. 

STARTING DATE: March 31 – June 6, 2025
