Two one-act chamber operas by Professor Kurt Rohde were cited by the website SF Classical Voice as winners in their annual Best of the Bay series. 

Selected by the website as Best New Music Performance, the Left Coast Chamber Ensemble’s program “Death and a Knight” featured Rohde’s works, “Never was a knight…” and “Death With Interruptions” The operas were performed last November with one performance of “Death With Interruptions” at the Ann E. Pitzer Center.   

In its review of the operas, SF Classical Voice hailed the score for “Never was a knight… as “the music is gorgeous, its lyricism buoyed by Rohde’s imaginative hand for orchestration.”
