National Association of Composers, USA
UC Davis graduate student Josiah Catalan won first place in the 2017 NACUSA (National Association of Composers/USA) Composition Competition for his piece titled Wanderlust, written for flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, violin, cello, piano, and percussion.
Founded in 1993, NACUSA, originally called the National Association for American Composers and Conductors (NAACC), was founded by American composer and conductor, Henry Hadley. The purpose of the organization was “to arrange and encourage performances of works by American composers and to help develop understanding and friendly cooperation between composers and conductors.”
