The UC Davis Theatre and Dance Department and the Theatre and Dance Ensemble are holding auditions for the second annual Ground and Field Theatre Festival. An exciting partnership formed to create and develop new plays and musicals for a sustainable future, the creative team is looking for actors and technicians to participate in the 2018 festival. 

Who: We are looking for theatre artists who are committed, passionate, and excited to be part of an on-going ensemble that will begin Sept. 4. All ensemble members will work in various capacities on each project so it’s of the utmost importance that you’re a team player who is unafraid of new challenges. We are looking for crew, designers, and performers.

What: In collaboration with directors Tom Burmester, Mindy Cooper, Lisa Quoresimo, and Danika Sudik, Ensemble Artists will develop and workshop new plays and musicals from up and coming and established playwrights. Collaborators will explore new plays, participate in readings, dramaturgy, workshops, and the intensive will culminate in performances at the beginning of the fall quarter.

When: Auditions: May 17, 6-10pm and May 18, 5-9pm

Callbacks: April 7 11am-3pm

Festival Rehearsal Dates: Sept 4-25; Sept 29-30, M-F 10am-4pm; Sept 26-28 & Oct 1- 3, 6:30pm-11pm

Performances: Oct 4, 5, 6 at 7:00pm and Oct 6 at 2pm

Where: Della Davidson Performance Studio, Nelson Hall

Prepare: Please be prepared to read from sides and dress to move. If you’re crew, a non-performer or a theatre curious artist, please be prepared to interview.
