Tasa Gleason holds a BFA in Dance Performance from Cornish
College of the Arts, Seattle WA, and a certificate in Apparel
Design and Merchandising from College of Alameda, Alameda CA. She
has been designing and creating costumes for dance and theatre
for over 15 years. Having a background in performance and
choreography offers Tasa an understanding of what is unique about
costuming for dance and theater; it also means that she
shares a vocabulary in regard to movement that is
indispensable to her when collaborating with directors,
choreographers, and dancers. Tasa works in the costume shop at
California State University Sacramento, is First Hand in the
costume shop at California Shakespeare Theater in Berkeley CA,
and is in her first year of the M.F.A. in Dramatic Arts program
at UC Davis as of fall 2018.
Members across the Department of Theatre and Dance have created
and contributed to the urgent need of face masks during this
pandemic. They have taken out their sewing machines and searched
through their homes for materials in order to make masks.
