Kemp Appears at Wayne State University
Margaret Laurena Kemp, associate professor of theatre and dance, will perform at Wayne State University’s Elaine L. Jacob Gallery in a work that is part of an ongoing exhibition “This Land Is…” Kemp’s performance is Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.
She also appears on a panel along with the exhibition’s other collaborators on Oct. 24 at 6:30 p.m.
“This Land Is…” features works created through a wide variety of disciplines by artists who address current and future environmental concerns. The artists confront political, cultural, and social ecological changes by observing sentimental landmarks and documenting their importance. This exhibition was curated by Jennifer Belair Sakarian and includes works by the following artists: David Buckley Borden and Casey Keenan, Sophie-Madeleine Jaillet, Sarah Anne Johnson, and Kemp in collaboration with Gina Kalabishis.
The Elaine L. Jacob Galley is a division of the James Pearson Duffy Department of Art and Art History at Wayne State’s College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts.
