Gözde Göncü-Berk is the Maria Manetti Shrem Endowed Chair in Sustainable Design, Fashion and Textiles, and the Founding Director of the Maria Manetti Shrem Institute for Sustainable Design, Fashion and Textiles at UC Davis, where she also leads the Wearable Technology Research Laboratory (WearLab). Her research investigates the intersections of clothing, textiles, and technology, advancing wearable technologies and soft systems that support health, wellbeing, and human performance. Her work integrates electronic and interactive textiles with an emphasis on sustainability, inclusivity, and human-centered design, spanning applications from healthcare to space exploration.
