UC Davis Design Professor Gozde Goncu-Berk, director of WearLab, in collaboration with Professor Houman Homayoun and PhD Candidate Ruoyu Zhang from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) have been honored with the International Achievement Award (IAA) in the category of Protective & Functional Apparel by the Advanced Textiles Association (ATA). The award recognizes outstanding and innovative projects representing the latest accomplishments in design and manufacture incorporating advanced textiles and highlights their interdisciplinary work in developing a wearable technology for real-time bladder monitoring.

Their project, Privee, is a wearable undergarment that monitors bladder fullness noninvasively using bioimpedance spectroscopy technology. View more about Privee here.
