The UC Davis Design Museum is pleased to announce the opening of
the 2015 MFA Design exhibition. Please join us for the opening
reception May 29th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 PM.
Graduate Studies in Design
The UC Davis Department of Design offers MFA candidates the
unique opportunity to collaborate with over one hundred
departments at one of the nation’s top public research
universities.
Working with renowned design faculty, students explore the
broader topic of “design” through a specific design discipline,
drawing on collaborations with the arts, humanities, social
sciences and sciences. They follow a rigorous process of critical
research, produce a body of creative work, and assist with
teaching in the undergraduate design curriculum.
MFA studies in design culminate in a final project exhibition
accompanied by a written thesis documenting their theoretical
framework and methodology. Students graduate to be future leaders
entering the design profession, academia and other related
fields.

Siqi Li just found a new job in Palo Alto. She’s going to
work for the Android creator, Andy Rubin, and his team in
the Playground Global Studio, with many other amazing
designers and engineers. With a title of UI/Visual
Conceptual Designer, she’ll work for a wide range of smart
hardware projects.

Mahan’s thesis topic for his MFA in Design at UC Davis concerns
how to exhibit architecture in a meaningful and effective way
using augmented reality technology. He is also the Architectural
manager in solar decathlon.
