MFA Design
May 20 – June 13, 2015
The UC Davis Department of Design offers MFA candidates the unique opportunity to collaborate with over one hundred departments at one of the nation’s top public research universities.
Working with renowned design faculty, students explore the broader topic of “design” through a specific design discipline, drawing on collaborations with the arts, humanities, social sciences and sciences. They follow a rigorous process of critical research, produce a body of creative work, and assist with teaching in the undergraduate design curriculum.
MFA studies in design culminate in a final project exhibition accompanied by a written thesis documenting their theoretical framework and methodology. Students graduate to be future leaders entering the design profession, academia and other related fields.
