Internships
The (DRA 192) Internship Program is intended to enable students to obtain practical educational experience which will complement and enhance the traditional educational process. The experience should also aid the student in the exploration of potential career opportunities and assist the student in clarifying his/her personal and educational goals.
Students interested in receiving internship credit should first meet with a faculty member to have their internship experience reviewed for possible credit. Students who do not obtain faculty approval prior to starting the internship will not be eligible for credit.
Only full-time faculty will be able to approve internships and provide the form to enroll in DRA 92 or 192.
The first step for students is to find a faculty sponsor and make a pre-internship meeting. Then students are ready to:
- Sign required UC Davis paperwork (required before the internship begins)
- Schedule one-on-one internship meetings with faculty sponsor. These meetings take place throughout the internship and are required.
- Document learning outcomes for the internship on the form. This is required to receive units for the internship.
