The Department of Theatre and Dance will present Slate Please: Auditioning…The Basics! on June 12 in the Arena Theatre, Wright Hall 6:30-8pm. This free workshop will cover some of the following: slating, transitions between audition pieces, consent and boundaries, and audition attire! The workshop will be lead by UC Davis alumni Leah Daugherty and Kevin Adamski.

Leah Daugherty (she/her) is a Sacramento-based actor and an alumna of both UC Davis (English/Theatre & Dance A.B., class of 2016) and the Capital Stage Apprenticeship Program (2016-2017 season). Leah has worked at Capital Stage, Davis Shakespeare Festival (now Vacancy Arts Collective), and Big Idea Theatre. Notable credits include The Wolves (Capital Stage), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Davis Shakespeare Festival), and a sold-out run of Dorothea Puente Tells All! (California Stage Company) alongside local legend Janis Stevens. Leah is a proud Big Idea Theatre company member where she has acted, directed, and worked behind the scenes since 2019.

Kevin Adamski (he/him) is a Sacramento-based director, actor, and playwright. He graduated from UC Davis with a BA in Dramatic Art & Communication, and went on to apprentice at Capital Stage with an emphasis in directing (2013-2014 season). Directing credits include Dead Man’s Cellphone and The Memorandum for UC Davis, An Ideal Husband, Jasper, and Twelfth Night for Big Idea Theater, and his original play Three Lunatics Discussing Philosophy for Capital Stage.
