Outside the Lines 1

A presentation and insight into the Horton Technique will be featured as part of UC Davis Department of Theatre and Dance’s Outside the Lines 1.
Outside the Lines, which showcases professional and student works, runs Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 1 to 3 at 7 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee on Dec. 3 in Wright Hall’s Main Theatre.
The program includes a unique presentation by Laura Rossini, a former member of the Alvin Ailey and Donald Byrd companies, on the Horton technique which is based on Native American dances, anatomical studies and other movement influences. The technique will be demonstrated by the student dancers.
There will be a sharing of new works by lecturer Mary Beth Cavanaugh and student choreographers, curated by David Grenke, Department of Theatre and Dance chair.
Tickets are $10, faculty/staff tickets are $9 and students/seniors tickets are $7. Tickets are available online at theatredance.ucdavis.edu or may be purchased at the UC Davis Athletic Ticket office, located on the north side of Aggie Stadium, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by phone (530) 752-2471 during the same hours.
