Intro to Contemporary Dance
Summer Session II
In Summer Session II, doctoral student Karola Lüttringhaus teaches DRA 014: Intro to Contemporary Dance in which students explore ways to access their unique movement vocabulary.
In this course, participants will be dancing and choreographing, talking about choreography, and considering cultural and personal factors for choreographing and dancing. Focus does not lie on dance technique or anatomy but really on creativity and personal expression. You will have lots of time to work with one another, and although the course is through zoom and we will often work in break-out rooms, some of you can probably meet in person in the dance studio or outdoors on campus. The course gives much creative freedom and is meant to inspire creative risk-taking and working on something that is meaningful to you, and/or helps you further your personal and academic goals.
