About the Artists
Carrie Hennessey has created a wildly unique and energized career path in theater, opera, symphony work, recital, and education, wearing with pride the hats of trauma-informed teacher and facilitator, producer, singer, actor, innovator and writer. Known for her soaring voice and richly nuanced characters onstage, she has sung all over the world including Francis Poulenc’s one-woman opera “La Voix Humaine,” a recital featuring beloved Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana,” Brahms’ Requiem, George Gershwin’s Rhapsody, Samuel Barber’s “Knoxville: Summer of 1915” and numerous recitals, workshops, master classes and concerts.
Susan Lamb Cook is a member of the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera, the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra, and is director of The Great Composers Chamber Music Series at the Harris Center for the Arts in Folsom. She has served on faculty for the Saarburg International Music Festival in Germany and the Vianden Festival, Luxembourg as well as on the artistic staff for the Classical Music Festival in Eisenstadt, Austria. She has performed as soloist with the Sacramento Philharmonic, the UC Davis Symphony Orchestra, the Reno Philharmonic, the Cairo Symphony (Egypt), the Paradise Symphony, the Camellia Symphony, the American River College Orchestra, and, in 2015, was featured as soloist in a Gala Concert in the Esterhazy Palace, Eisenstadt, Austria with the Classical Music Festival Orchestra.
Jennifer Reason gave her first solo recital at the age of 5 and has gone on to become a frequent face in the recording studio. She was an on-call session player at Berkeley’s famed Fantasy Studios and has recorded at the Abbey Road Studios in London. Solo and ensemble performance credits cover seventeen countries and fifteen states, including European festivals, Carnegie Hall, and an international conducting debut at St Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City. She received an Emmy Nomination for the PBS documentary “The Sound of Giving,” with vocal ensemble RSVP. Collaboratively, she works as Music director of the modern opera collective Rogue Music Project and as a pit musician for both Broadway Sacramento and Broadway San Francisco. She has shared the stage with notable personalities such as Josh Groban, Wayne Brady, Sarah Brightman and members of Journey, Tower of Power, Santana, Sly and the Family Stone. Away from the concert hall, Reason is the Midday Classical Host and Local Music Manager for Capital Public Radio.
