Illuminating choral works written by female composers over two centuries, central work of the program is a multi-movement work — Iluminare — by award-winning composer Elaine Hagenberg. Also featured is a work by Professor of Music Laurie San Martin, which uses poetry by UC Davis's Pulitzer-Prize winning faculty member, Gary Snyder.
Using lesser-known sacred Latin, Greek, and English texts, ["Iluminare"] takes us through a season of beauty and goodness that has been disrupted by darkness and confusion. But as Light gradually returns, hope is restored, illuminating our future and guiding us in peace. Elaine Hagenberg

About the Artists
Dr. Nicolás Alberto Dosman is Director of Choirs, Associate Professor of Teaching at the UC Davis, and the Barbara K. Jackson Chair in Choral Conducting. He is the conductor of the Concert Choir and Chamber Singers and mentors graduate conducting students. Dosman is also the Music Director of the Grammy-award nominated Pacific Edge Voices.
