This program draws from a century of American composers who continue to envision what symphonic music can be and what sources it can draw from.

From Swing Era tunes of the 1930s and 40s, to the famous charts by Duke Ellington and Count Basie, the big bands of UC Davis always present an eclectic and invigorating concert.

From J.S. Bach's motets to living composer Ola Gjeilo, choral composers have utilized the first musical instrument humans had — the human voice — to envision our innermost roots, the soul.
