Vocal Audition Workshop
Prepare for the upcoming Ground and Field Theatre Festival and “The Threepenny Opera” auditions with the help of Dr. Lisa Quoresimo!
Come dressed to move, as there will be a physical warm-up along with the vocal warm-up/ technique work. Bring a 16-bar cut of a song if you have one, or one will be provided for you to learn.
The workshop will be held in the Arena Theatre, Wright Hall from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
ALL LEVELS from “I’M TERRIFIED OF SINGING AND EVERYONE SAYS I CAN’T” to “WHY IN THE WORLD HAVEN”T I WON A TONY YET?” are encouraged to attend.
Lisa Quoresimo received her Ph.D. in Performance Studies from UC Davis, and is now Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre at Southern Utah University. Her vocal students have been seen on Broadway, national tours and the Vienna Boys Choir. Lisa’s recent Bay Area performing credits include “An Octoroon” at Berkeley Repertory and “The Events” at Shotgun Players. Her most recent writing credits include her musical “Between Dirt and Sky,” and the music for “One Googol” and “One,” both produced at the Brava Theater Center in San Francisco in the last season. She is a co-founder and director of the Ground and Field Theatre Festival. She previously directed and created new works at The Marsh Theatre.
