DRA 198: New Play Development and Production
Fall 2017
Explores the development and production of new plays and musicals from conceptualization through finished product. How do theaters choose scripts? What is the development process? How do you market your material? What does it take to be a new play actor? What’s a 29-hour reading? How do I engage with a director on changes and dramaturgy? What’s dramaturgy? These and more questions are explored in discussion and practice. Taught by award-winning director and producer Kent Nicholson, this class is for playwrights, directors, dramaturgs, and actors.
