Ben Carter (B.A. theatre and dance, ‘20) has written and directed a virtual musical parody that features numerous UC Davis alumni and undergraduate students on and off screen. With music by Nate Challis (B.A., theatre and dance, ‘20), the collaborative project, A Marvelous Parody, spoofs superhero genre films.

The musical’s large ensemble includes Carter and Challis along with alumni performers Tristan Atkinson, Jordan Brownlee, Andre Codner, Talia Friedenberg, Charlie Lavaroni, Shannon McCoy, Cortha McNair and Tyler Justin Pruyn. The cast also feature undergraduate actors Sophie Brubaker, Rose Curfman, Katie Hall, Erolina Kamburova, Emily Kramer, Kyle Nagasawa, Hailey Peterson and Chloe Wasil. 

Behind the scenes, the alumni includes scenic design by Noah VanderVeer-Harris, props by Annie Houston and stage manager Corinne Balmain. Undergraduate student V’Santi Tobey did the costumes and is also a cast member.
