Sofía del Pedregal (M.F.A., ‘22) is in residency for the months of November and December at the L’Aquila Reale: Centro d’Arte e Natura di Civitella di Licenza in Italy. Sofía del Pedregal and fellow LaVALLE resident André Bousquet are developing a research project that documents the works of women artists who  participated in the Grand Tour in Tivoli and Aniene Valley where del Pedregal and Bousquet are in residence. “Cartoline Imaginate: Valle dell’Aniene” (Imaginary Postcards: Valle dell’Aniene)” investigates women artists and intellectuals from the 17-19th centuries who explored Europe to study the landscape and ruins in continental Europe. 

The LaVALLE International Artistic Research Residency supports artists researching a geographical area in collaboration with the local community.
