Charles Munch biography by Holoman released
D. Kern Holoman’s Charles Munch earns critical welcome from American and British media.
Music historian and conductor D. Kern Holoman is author of the first major biography of Charles Munch, legendary conductor of the Paris Conservatory Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Orchestre de Paris. Charles Munch, published in January 2012, by the Oxford University Press, has drawn considerable attention from the press and radio. Steven Kruger, of Fanfare magazine, wrote: “It would be hard to imagine a better written, more insightful, or more useful biography. This is the book we have been waiting for.” John von Rhein, in the Chicago Tribune, noted “fascinating and revealing stuff. … I cannot recommend it too highly.” To date:
