Outside the Lines, Winter Quarter
Main Theatre, Wright Hall
“Outside the Lines, Winter Quarter,” presented by the College of Letters and Science’s Department of Theatre and Dance, features new choreography created by graduate and undergraduate students.
Performances are Thursday through Saturday, March 14-16 at 7 p.m. with a 2 p.m. performance on March 16 in the Wright Hall Main Theatre.
The performance includes a masters’ thesis project, “Always Never Do,” by dramatic art student Lena Polzonetti and new works by undergraduate students Kevin Butt, Lesly Solano, Audrey Mardel, Stephanie Nielsen and Andrea Varela. The choreography has been curated by David Grenke, theatre and dance department chair.
“‘Always Never Do’ is a dance work exploring themes of time and change over time,” said Polzonetti. “The work is loosely framed through the passing of the seasons, a natural cycle of change and activity that nevertheless remains constant in its repetition each year. The themes of time and changes over time are embedded in the process used to create this work: in rehearsal a core group of undergraduate dancers with a variety of backgrounds have contributed their own movement invention to the piece.”
General admission is $10, faculty/staff are $9 and students/seniors are $7. Tickets are available at the UC Davis Athletic Ticket Office, on the north side of Aggie Stadium, or by phone (530) 752-2471 Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and available online at theatredance.ucdavis.edu.
