Outside the Lines, Winter Quarter
Main Theatre, Wright Hall
New choreography created by graduate and undergraduate students is showcased in the winter quarter edition of “Outside the Lines.”
Running Thursday through Saturday, March 14 to 16 at 7 p.m. with a 2 p.m. performance on March 16, “Outside the Lines 2” is presented by the College of Letters and Science’s Department of Theatre and Dance in Wright Hall’s Main Theatre.
The performance includes a masters thesis project by dramatic art graduate student Lena Polzonetti as well as new works by undergraduate students Kevin Butt, Audrey Mardel, Stephanie Nielsen and Andrea Varela. The choreography has been curated by David Grenke, theatre and dance department chair.
“’Always Never Do’ is a dance work exploring themes of time and change over time, said Polzonetti. “The work is loosely framed through the passing of the seasons, a natural cycle of change and activity that nevertheless remains constant in its repetition each year. The themes of time and change over times are embedded in the process used to create this work: in rehearsal a core group of undergraduate dancers with a variety of backgrounds have contributed their own movement invention to the piece.”
