Outside the Lines, Winter Quarter, presented by the UC Davis Department of Theatre and Dance, is an informal preview of new choreography in progress created by graduate and undergraduate students.
Performances are Thursday through Saturday, March 10-12 at 7 p.m. in Hickey Gym.
The pieces include new works by graduate students Ann Dragich and Edward Talton-Jackson as well as choreography by undergraduate students Ariana Boostani and Katrina Lau. The choreography has been developed under the guidance of Professor David Grenke.
“Choreography first takes shape in the dance studio through compositional sketches,” said Grenke. “The studio environment is a laboratory for our students’ creative process and, as a research institution, we wanted to share early stages of a choreographer’s experiment with our patrons. The dances shared in this informal setting will evolve into fully realized pieces in our spring edition of Outside the Lines.”
The performance is free, but those who wish to attend should make a reservation at the links above.
