Main Stage Dance/Theatre Festival premieres
three new works by UC Davis undergraduate students exploring
dance and theatre from extremely different angles.
See what happens when monochromatic lives are transformed by the
prism of dance in Prisma with choreography by Toni
Alejandria. Prisma ponders the body’s natural desires in
a moment of true freedom.
Reparté, choreographed by Ann Dragich, is a funky
compilation of personalities coming together through movement in
a space of pseudo-reality. It includes humorous and witty
interactions amongst performers, discovered in late night
rehearsals running on coffee and bubblegum.
Life Like Tales with choreography by Vivian Thorne was
inspired in part by Buster Keaton’s silent films. The piece
explores the nature of theatre, performance and human
interactions.
Main Stage Dance/Theatre Festival previews on
April 10 and continues through April 20 in Main Theatre. This
includes two special matinee performances on Picnic Day, April
19, at 1pm and 3pm.
