Bio
Georgia's research interests include modernism and the avant-garde, and her undergraduate thesis focused on how art functioned as a method of political activism in Europe during the World Wars.
During her time at UC Davis, she will further explore European modernism, building on her previous research into the avant-garde and decorative arts and their relationships to identity, regional pride, and community. She is particularly interested in how modernist artistic movements both shaped and reflected collective identities, as well as how these works engaged broader questions of spectatorship, perception, and the public sphere.
