- Performance Studies
Erika Tsimbrovsky is an interdisciplinary choreographer, performer, and artistic researcher completing a Ph.D. in Performance Studies at the University of California, Davis. Working across dance, installation, visual art, and embodied writing, she uses improvisation, movement, materials, and asemic inscription to explore intimacy, sensing, and relationships among artist, performer, and audience. Her long-term project, Living Open Diary, approaches the diary not as a literary style but as a method and score—a living composition shaped through bodies, materials, place, and shared duration. Her research also engages dance artists’ intimate writings, experimental modes of embodied citation, and practices that unsettle conventional distinctions between dance-making and text-making. She is the co-founder and artistic director of Avy K Productions.
