Arianna’s research interests broadly include the arts of the Rococo and specifically, Bavarian Rococo pilgrimage churches. During her time at UC Davis, she will continue studying the German language and exploring themes of women’s agency and patronage in context of eighteenth century Bavaria.

Haleigh Jones’ undergraduate thesis focused on the Florentine painter Fra Filippo Lippi, dismantling long-standing sensationalized myths drawn from unreliable sources and instead highlighting his technical skill and artistic mastery. At UC Davis, Haleigh plans to extend this critical approach to other artists of the Florentine Renaissance, investigating how embellished narratives and questionable biographies have shaped their reception across centuries.
