Time Is Passing By
A dynamic contemplation of human existence in time provides the context for a remarkable evening of movement when the UC Davis Department of Theatre and Dance presents Time Is Passing By, created by the distinguished choreographer John Jasperse.
“Time Is Passing By is a rumination on our existence in time,” said Jasperse. “It explores how the remnants from our actions that remain in our wake create a context for the future. We’re looking at legacy, not as way of preserving our egos but as the sum total of the context that results from our actions and that we hand on to the future. As we move back and forth along the axis of time, we are also playing with the notion that time is not just linear but is articulated through multiple dimensions.”
John Jasperse is at UC Davis as part of the Granada Artists-in-Residence program which provides the opportunity for arts students to be directed, mentored, choreographed and guided through the creative process by world-class artists.
