Theatre Publication Features AntigoneNOW Article

Collage of three video stills from AntigoneNOW: a woman in a yellow dress outdoors, sepia-toned hands pressed against a screen, and a performer gazing upward against trees and sky.

Professor Margaret Laurena Kemp is a co-author of “Unity over Unison: Creating AntigoneNOW in Lockdown,” which has been published in a recent edition of the journal Theatre Topics, vol. 31, no. 2, July 2021.

Published by Johns Hopkins University Press, the journal’s article spotlights the creation of the Department of Theatre and Dance’s virtual production of AntigoneNOW. The article is a conversation among Kemp and her collaborators co-director Sinéad Rushe and Roger Ellis, associate professor of theatre and dance at Northwestern University. The conversation was moderated by Dassia N. Posner, associate professor of theatre and Slavic Languages and Literature at Northwestern University.

The virtual performance was presented online in May 2020.
