Professor Mindy Cooper is the chair of the Ann Reinking Scholarship Program which honors the late actress/dancer/choreographer. The program presented its first scholarship at a fundraising event in New York on Nov. 8. 

Vivianna DeSantiago of Yuma, AZ was the scholarship recipient which enables her to take ten weeks of free classes at Steps on Broadway with top professionals. Her scholarship was presented by actress Marilu Henner.

The scholarship is administered through Off the Lane which is geared towards giving back to the arts community. Their mentorship program pairs vetted professionals in the creative arts with motivated juniors and seniors at the university level as well as young professionals 18+ to help transition them from student to professional.

Alumna Sophie Brubaker (B.A, theatre and dance, ‘21) serves as the community coordinator for Off the Lane.
