FORBES Magazine Honors Alum
FORBES magazine has honored UC Davis Design alumna Kausi Raman (B.S., design and economics, ‘20) by naming her one of their “30 under 30” in education for 2026.
Raman distinguished herself at UC Davis, graduating with the highest honors. As a passion project beyond the classroom, Kausi iterated and implemented designs for education and distributed these materials through the charitable organization she founded, English Khadavu. Her first work experience continued to develop her skills in designing for education.
She later attended U Penn where she completed a Master’s in Integrated Product Design and worked in their Makerspace labs.
Kausi’s university and outside educational experiences led her to co-found Chompshop, which produces the ChompSaw. The ChompSaw was designed with kids and educators in mind. It harnesses the power of industrial tools like the jigsaw in a way that lets kids cut and shape cardboard safely.
SharkTank featured the ChompSaw in 2024. This year, TIME magazine named the ChompSaw one of its top inventions of 2025.
Warm congratulations to Kausi and her team!
